only seems silly that a crash of the space shuttle could be used to transmit the case .. I mean friggin astronauts were there in the second movie!

And the second part of my question is, in his opinion, is not it a sign of Sandman is too small for the main plot of the film?

I think Green Goblin is an iconic character, so is Doctor Octopus, and poison is the symbol of all three, but Sandman .. He has a note like Rhino and Shocker.
